Meet the people behind the scenes

Vikki took over the day-to-day running of the venison business in September 2009, relieving Nichola and John of the daily pressures and enabling them to concentrate on their various book writing projects, and for Nichola, back to her goldsmiths bench.  Vikki has years of experience with food and drink, and mail order, and describes this as her 'dream job'.  As a result, in April 2012, Vikki bought the business from the Fletchers and changed the name to Seriously Good Venison Limited.  Since then she has bought another business, Seriously Good Butchery, which offers a bespoke butchery service for local farmers and smallholders.  Based on Shore Road in Perth, the venison butchery now also takes place here. The quality and consistency of our venison are still exactly as it has always been, and always will be.  'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' 🙂

Jenny  is our General Manager and works alongside Vikki in the office processing your venison orders and making sure everything runs smoothly.  It's more than likely her cheery voice you'll hear on the end of the phone when you call to place your order.

We have a team of 3 highly skilled master butchers with over 80 years experience between them. They do all of the butchery for Seriously Good Venison as well as all of the beef, pork, lamb and veal butchery for our other business, Seriously Good Butchery. 

Bob and Jane Prentice are our deer farmers and keep the herd at their farm near Ladybank, Fife. Bob took over the herd after John & Nichola Fletcher retired and sold the business to Vikki. Originally a dairy farmer, Bob now concentrates on rearing deer and has a state of the art dressing facility on site while Jane, his wife, runs the business side of things.
