Another new catering event for us this month. We’re off to Biggar, Vikki’s home town, to cater at Volksfling…….

It’s a Show, in Scotland, for Volkswagen enthusiasts and related marques like Porsche, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, NSU – you get it..!

Volksfling is another car-related event for us during the month of May, this is a twice yearly event and focuses on everything VW related. It’s a proper mini festival with camping over 3 days. We’ll be heading south with Bella, our catering truck, and we’re hoping she won’t feel too left out amongst all those Volkswagens as she’s a converted Dodge Fire Service Truck, but we’re quite sure everyone will make her feel at home.

We’ve been asked to do something a little different food-wise this time so we have our thinking caps firmly on at the moment. Any suggestions would be gratefully received, no matter how weird and wonderful! We’re always up for a challenge!

There’s loads on over the weekend including various competitions, displays, kids entertainment, live music, food and drink. Sounds like it’s going to be a great family weekend and we’re really looking forward to it, plus we get to stay with Vikki’s lovely Mum and Dad 🙂 No, we’re not camping this time, after Belladrum we have learned our lesson. It’s very difficult to be bright and breezy with our lovely customers when you’re surviving on 3 hours sleep a night!

If you fancy coming along you can buy your tickets in advance on the Volksfling website or you can get them on the day. Day tickets are £7 for adults and under 17’s are FREE! Adult camping tickets for the weekend are £30 on the gate and £25 if you book in advance, kids are just £2 but have to be purchased with an adult ticket. All very reasonable we must say!

We’re just off to get ready for Perth Farmer’s Market tomorrow then hopefully a cheeky early finish and out to enjoy some of this beautiful sunshine! If you’re out and about in Perth tomorrow make sure you head down to our city’s fantastic market and support all of the lovely local producers that come every month. We’re all small businesses and we really do need and appreciate your support!
